The #1 Problem Between Agents and Clients — I Asked Google, ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok

I asked Google, ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok the same question about real estate agents and clients. Every single one gave me the same answer. Here's what it means — and why I spent two years building something about it.

The #1 Problem Between Agents and Clients — I Asked Google, ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok

Every AI gave me the same answer. And it's exactly why I built Agentry.

Today I did something a little nerdy. I submitted the same question to Google, ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok.

"What is the single most common problem between real estate agents and clients?"

Every single one came back with the same answer.

Communication.

Not market knowledge. Not negotiating skills. Not experience. Communication.

And honestly — I wasn't surprised. Because I've been watching this play out in real time for over a decade.

I've been in thousands of homes across the Coachella Valley selling solar. My partner is a realtor. Many of our closest friends are realtors. And through my work I've sat across from more clients than I can count who have stories — good ones and horror stories — about working with agents. I've heard both sides of this thing so many times I could write a book.

The pattern is always the same.

Clients think their agent is too pushy, doesn't care, or is flat out a jerk. Agents think their clients are too needy, completely unrealistic, or go completely silent when it's time to make a decision. Both sides walk away convinced the other person is the problem.

But here's what I know from being in the middle of it for so long. They're almost never the problem.

Their communication styles are just different.

And a different communication style can feel like a completely different language. It can read as cold when someone is just being efficient. It can feel like pressure when someone is just trying to help. It can seem like silence when someone is actually just processing. When you don't understand how another person expresses themselves you start filling in the blanks with the worst possible interpretation. You make it personal. And in a transaction as significant as buying or selling a home — something deeply tied to a person's financial security, their family, their next chapter — feeling misunderstood doesn't just feel uncomfortable. It feels like a personal attack.

Not everyone is a realized guru who can read all people in all situations. Most of us are just doing our best and hoping the other person gets us.

When they don't we end up with "that realtor sucks" and "that client is impossible."

Neither of which is true.

That realtor has a long list of past clients who praise them to anyone who will listen — which is probably how this client found them in the first place. And that client, in the right hands with the right agent, is a dream to work with. Loyal, motivated, ready to move.

They just didn't speak each other's language.

That doesn't have to keep happening.

I spent two years conceptualizing and building something that solves this exact problem. Not a communication device. Not a script or a course or a framework. Something much simpler.

A way to put people together who already speak the same language before they ever pick up the phone.

Whether you're the laid back agent who builds trust slowly or the driven client who needs someone who moves as fast as they think — Agentry finds your match. The one who gets you. The one who communicates the way you need without either of you having to explain yourselves.

Take the quiz at agentryapp.com. It takes five minutes.

And it might save you from the conversation you never wanted to have.
